1. What we collect

Your email address and the one-time codes you sign in with. The profile you enter — age, sex, height, weight, activity level, goal and pace — and the targets calculated from it. Your food and weight logs, including meal photos and descriptions. Your preferences, timezone, anything you contribute to the shared food database, and the daily nutrition totals calculated from your log.

If you subscribe, we record that your account is subscribed and when that access runs out. Payment details are handled by the app store and never reach us.

We also keep a record of your use of the AI features, with limited technical details of each request, so that we can apply daily limits and prevent abuse.

We also collect diagnostic data: crash and performance reports describing the device and what the app was doing, and a screen recording of sessions in which the app fails. Text and images are masked in those recordings before they leave your device, so they show layout and navigation rather than your log or your photos. Neither the reports nor the recordings carry your account or your IP address.

2. How we use it

To create and secure your account, calculate targets, log meals, estimate nutrition from text and photos, score food quality and processing, keep your data available across your devices, moderate contributions, answer support requests, prevent abuse and fix errors.

We do not sell your log, share it with advertisers, or use it to target advertising. There are no ads and no third-party analytics in Gourmang, and what leaves our systems for AI analysis or crash reporting is not tied to your account.

3. Who else processes it

Text and images you submit to the AI features are sent to an AI provider for analysis, without your name, email or any account identifier — though a photo of course shows whatever you photographed. We also use providers for hosting, data and image storage, email delivery, crash and performance reporting, and for managing subscriptions, which receive an account identifier that is not your name or email. They process your data only to provide those services to us.

4. Retention and deletion

While your account exists, the meals you log are kept for a limited period and your daily totals for longer, so your history and progress keep working. Photos are deleted once they are no longer in use.

Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Subscriptions are billed by your app store and can only be cancelled there.

You can delete your account at any time from the app’s settings. That removes the data tied to it, including your logs and photos, your profile and measurements, your weight history, your targets, and your saved and favourite foods. Approved contributions to the shared food database, and any photos attached to them, remain without identifying you as their author — as does anything we must keep for legal or security reasons.
